Questions and Answers (Post a Question on the Facebook Group Page)
Do your project files work in CS4?
Yes, all files work in CS4. They were created in CS3, but you can open up projects that were created in CS3 in CS4.
I have CS2 not CS3. Can I open up CS3 files using CS2?
Nope, these after effects files do not have backwards compatibility. We gotta stay current!
I do not have after effects, can I buy the template and have you customize it for me?
Yes we can do that for you. But only changing the text and dropping in photos or videos. Any other major changes will be billed as an additional charge. Hourly Rate: $100 per hour.
When I purchase a project file what happens?
When you purchase an after effects project file, the file you purchased will be available for download right after you're through with the check out process. This site uses the services of payloadz.com to make safe online transactions. Read more here.
Do your templates come with tutorials?
I'm in the process of producing video tutorials for all my files. Some files come with tutorials when you purchase a template. Check the free ones out here.
What type of file I'm a getting?
Your file will be a zip file that contains the After Effects file, folders containing all of the assets used in the project, and a "readme" text file that explains how the project is broken down and the best steps that you need to take to edit this project. They are all quite simple. However some level of After Effects knowledge is required.
When I buy a project can I give it away to friends or post in on a server for others to download?
Absolutely not, when you download a project you are in agreement with dropdrop.com not to share the project with anyone. This is a copyrighted digital file. Just like music. Please be respectful and do the honorable thing. That way we can keep making great after effects templates for you.
Can I download a project and then resell it?
No. (Seriously someone asked this)
How can I use these projects?
You can use these files anyway you like. Commercials, corporate videos, websites, trade-shows, and much more. To find out more just read up on our terms of service. Really you have the freedom to use these anyway you like. You just can't resell them in anyway. Using these files in Pornagraphy is forbidden. Also using these files in any way that discriminates against race is forbidden. You can not use these files for propaganda against the United States of America (Example: Islamic Supremacist Groups promoting terrorism). Also if you want to use the file again you can use the file up to 5 times otherwise you'll have to pay to use the file again. We have a "pay per use" policy. You may apply for special rate if you want to use the file over and over again. You will pay a discounted rate.
Can I change some of the graphics?
You can. You can do anything you want. If you want to make the file look completely different from when you first opened it that's fine with me!
Be it graphics, vector art, colors, anything!
Once I download the project can I make it look completely different with colors and even changing the camera moves?
Yes and Yes. You can hack this project up anyway you like!
Can I change the resolution of the the compositions to the format I need?
Sure, you can down-convert or up-convert to any format you want. Usually tweaking the camera moves after you have changed the resolution composition settings will do the trick, or changing the lens preset on the Camera from say 55mm lens to 75mm lens. I've chosen HD 1080p as the format for most because this is the most requested format requested by most clients in my profession. Check out the end of this tutorial that shows you how to downconvert a 1080 res file to NTSC D1.
Some of your project files are broken down into separate compositions, why are you doing it that way?
FIrst reason is there are a lot of beginning AE users buying these files. I don't want
them to be boggled down with huge timelines. 2nd reason is that if you need to make an animation longer, you can make that change to one comp and not all the animations. I have worked professionally for many years in AE, and in my experience making short compositions is the way to go. You can render out all your comps as different clips, then edit them together in your NLE system, like Final Cut Pro.
Can I make a custom bundle and still get a discount?
You sure can. Just contact us, tell us which files you want to purchase, and we'll create a special order for you with a discount.

When I try to render, I get an error that says there are missing source files.
Sometimes After Effects acts finicky with files that you import into the program. Let's use one of the files on this site as an example. The "Metal Movie Trailer Text" project file.
In your project window toggle down the "stills" folder. Right click the "Metal Texture.psd" file and select "Replace Footage" then click "File".
Browse to the folder that this After Effects Project is located in that you downloaded from the website. Click on footage > Stills > then click on "Metal Texture.psd"
You'll see that it shows up as a connected file in the project window now.
Do this for all the files that After Effects claims are missing.
